About Bob: As Director of Exploratory Initiatives & Partnerships, I am involved in a range of projects and activities at the intersection of learning, technology, and community. In addition to overseeing the resources in the Digital Learning Commons and Design Space at the Institute, collaborating with DLINQ’s undergraduate and graduate student interns, I also provide support for Middlebury current digital learning tools and am involved in the evaluation and testing of new tools. I also contribute to conversations about emerging teaching practices and methods that enhance the student learning experience in face-to-face, hybrid or online environments.

I hold an MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from the Middlebury Institute. I taught ESL, administered Intensive English programs, and trained teachers to integrate technology into the curriculum. As an ESL teacher I developed a passion for community engaged and project-based pedagogy, often experimenting with digital media, web, and collaboration tools.
